Cohesion is unity in diversity, not achieving sameness, Director General of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) Kiril Valchev said on Tuesday at the closing conference in Veliko Tarnovo of the project "Europe in Bulgaria: A Common Future", which BTA is implementing with the support of the European Commission.
The main objective of the project, which officially ends on Tuesday, was to provide the general public and stakeholders with information about the cohesion policy, the political priorities of the European Union, the opportunities in the programming period 2021-2027, to present the results at local level, to outline the challenges and ways to overcome them.
"We have organised such talks in all regional cities. I thank the institutions that were involved in them in each city, the representatives of various ministries that are involved in the use of EU funds", Valchev said.
The series of conferences was launched in Sofia on December 1, 2022, in BTA’s hall MaxiM, after which the news agency organised forums in all the regional cities of the country, as well as in some larger municipalities such as Kazanlak, Samokov and Svishtov.
