site.bta83 Fires Put Out Countrywide within 24 Hours

Firefighters have extinguished 83 fires in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours, the General Directorate of Fire Safety and Population Protection said Friday. Fire brigade teams responded to 125 accident signals.

A man was injured in a fire in Barziya village in Berkovitsa municipality. The incident was reported yesterday at 13:50. The injured is a 60-year-old man who has about 10% burns on the nose, arm and legs. He was admitted to the surgical ward of the Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment "Dr. Stamen Iliev" in Montana. The cause of the accident was negligence.

22 of the fires for the day were of material damage. Nine of them were in residential buildings. There were 61 fires without material damage. Firefighters performed 38 rescues, six of which were in crashes.
