Conditions for hiking in the mountains are good, the Mountain Rescue Service told BTA Tuesday. The weather is fine, with light to moderate wind high up in the mountains. Temperatures range between 15 C and 20 C. The first and second cableways at Pamporovo, the Sitnyakovo chairlift at Borovets and the gondola lift at Bansko are operating.

Mountain Rescue cautions hikers to stick to hiking trails and pack plenty of water. They should judge their hiking time well to avoid staying in the mountains after sundown. Wear appropriate clothing in the mountains and carry sunscreen. Mountain rescuers also recommend that people go hiking with a charged phone and have mountain insurance.

There were no incidents involving hikers over the past 24 hours.

Sunny weather in the mountains, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology forecast. Afternoon cloudy spells with showers in the Rhodopes. Moderate to occasionally strong in the high parts southwesterly wind. Highs: 31C at 1,200 m, 24C at 2,000 m.
