"What has been done will be upgraded. Most importantly, we should achieve results that are visible to the people as quickly as possible," the new Minister of Transport and Communications, Georgi Gvozdeikov, said on Tuesday, taking over from Hristo Aleksiev.
According to Gvozdeikov, the new cabinet "brings together opposite poles but has high goals".
For his part, Aleksiev recalled the financial plight of Bulgarian Posts and called for recovery efforts to avoid the liquidation of the national post operator. The building of a helicopter emergency medical service and the planned acquisition of new rolling stock for the Bulgarian State Railways were also singled out as important undertakings of the Transport and Communications Ministry.
