site.bta21 Bulgarian Students Win Chinese Ambassador's Scholarship
A total of 21 Bulgarian students won the Chinese Ambassador's Scholarship for the academic year 2022/2023. They received their awards from the Minister of Education and Science prof. Sasho Penov and the Ambassador of China to Bulgaria Dong Xiaojun at a ceremony at the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, announced the Ministry of Education and Science.
"I hope our successful cooperation will continue and we will achieve better results. We highly appreciate the mutual efforts of both countries and I hope more and more young people will be willing to study Chinese in Bulgaria and Bulgarian language to be studied in Chinese universities," Minister Penov said. He recalled that there are also several schools in Bulgaria where Chinese language is studied. "I sincerely believe that the good relations between our educational institutions will be developed and deepened in the future," the minister added.
He thanked the Chinese Ambassador for the gesture towards our students and assured that this will be an even greater incentive for the study of Chinese in Bulgaria.
In his address, Chinese Ambassador Dong Xiaojun congratulated all the awarded students and expressed his respect to all the Chinese language teachers and volunteers. He pointed out that cooperation between the two countries in the field of education and opening more exchange places is extremely important.
The students who were awarded scholarships are from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, University of Veliko Turnovo St Cyril and St. Methodius, Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv and South-West University Neofit Rilski. They are studying Chinese language and have excellent grades.
