The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) Friday was honoured for its coverage of the 25th National Children's Book Festival in the southern town of Sliven. A statuette and a diploma were handed to BTA by the director of the Sliven Regional Library, Rossitsa Petrova, at a final news conference for the book fair.
The 25th National Children's Book Festival took place between May 10 and 12 in Sliven and BTA was media partner.
The library director recalled that her library was the first to focus on children's books back in 1999.
Over 8,000 children and teenagers joined the festival event this year. Among the participants and guests were students, illustrators, publishers, librarians, literary critics and educators.
On the programme were 15 book premiers, a book marathon with writers and ten publishers, master classes in writing and illustration, theatrical performances, concerts.
