site.btaOvernight Drone Attack Causes Fires in Odesa Region, Ukraine
Two districts in the Odesa Region were attacked by drones overnight, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Odesa Region reported on its Facebook page on Monday. Fires and damage have been reported in the Odesa and Izmail regions as a result of drone attacks.
Damage was caused to two residential buildings and passenger cars in the Odesa district. A private home, two cars, and farm buildings were damaged in the Izmail district.
The fires that broke out have been extinguished. The State Emergency Service has deployed 21 rescue workers and five pieces of equipment to address the aftermath of the attacks.
Bulgarians in the Odesa region number more than 150,000 and were the third largest population group in Ukraine in 2001, according to the official census. About 50,000 - 60,000 Bulgarians live in the city of Odesa itself. The largest compact Bulgarian population is concentrated in the Bolhrad, Izmail and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi districts.
