Just Eat Takeaway has announced plans to cease operations in Bulgaria. The company said the move will allow it to focus its investments on accelerating growth and building strong, sustainably profitable market positions, while continuing to provide the best possible experience for customers, partners and couriers, according to a statement published on its website.

Takeaway plans to cease all delivery services in Bulgaria as of September 15, in compliance with all applicable legal requirements.

With a history of more than 20 years in Bulgaria, the business has operated since 2018 under the recognizable orange Takeaway brand. The company said it would comply with all legal procedures concerning approximately 220 employees and 480 couriers.
