One person was killed and eight were injured in a drone attack on the Odesa region earlier on Wednesday, according to Oleh Kiper, Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, said on Telegram. He added that seven of the injured have been hospitalized.

The attack damaged one of the enterprises in the outskirts of the Ukrainian Black Sea city. Fires that broke out following the strike were extinguished by emergency crews. Relevant authorities are currently working to deal with the aftermath of the latest attack, Kiper added.

Bulgarians in the Odesa region number more than 150,000 and were the third largest population group in Ukraine in 2001, according to the official census. About 50,000 - 60,000 Bulgarians live in the city of Odesa itself. The largest compact Bulgarian population is concentrated in the Bolhrad, Izmail and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi districts.
