Bulgarian baseball player Stefan Beshkov is seeking a second Guinness World Records title after recording 30 baseball hits in one minute, five more than the current mark. He has submitted evidence from the attempt for ratification.

The current record of 25 hits was set by Americans Cory Fallon and Andrew Lobasso on November 21, 2020, in Garden City, New York. Working with his son Alexander at October Stadium in Sofia on July 14, Beshkov hit a target measuring 5 m in diameter 30 times in 60 seconds.

Two timekeepers and two witnesses oversaw the attempt, which two videographers and a photographer recorded in accordance with Guinness World Records requirements. All the required documentation and footage have been uploaded to the organization’s online platform, and a decision is expected in the coming months.

“The goal is to draw attention to our sport and launch a fundraiser for the Bulgarian national baseball team. Our main task is to support Bulgaria’s youth teams and the broader development of youth baseball. We also want to remind children and adults alike that every goal, especially an ambitious one, requires consistent effort and training. Nothing is impossible. If we can break a world record, success in Europe is also within reach,” Beshkov said.

He wore white throughout the attempt as a message of peace.

“Over time, the idea developed into something deeper. We are now witnessing the highest levels of global conflict since World War II. In this climate, sport offers a powerful alternative, allowing nations to compete peacefully without causing harm. Peace is more than the absence of war; it is life itself,” Beshkov added.

If ratified, it would be Beshkov’s second Guinness World Records title. In July 2024, he and teammates Dimitar Nassapov and Teodor Karakashev set the record for the most baseball ground balls fielded in one minute.
