Prime Minister Rumen Radev will take part in the EU-Western Balkans Summit, which is taking place on Friday in Tivat, Montenegro, the Government Information Service said.

The forum brings together the heads of state and government of the European Union and the Western Balkan countries. It will be chaired by European Council President Antonio Costa, while Montenegro's President Jakov Milatovic will host the event.

The summit is themed "Shared Prosperity and Stability of the EU and the Western Balkans". Discussions will focus on EU enlargement, the region's integration through the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, and strengthening security in the face of cyber threats, hybrid attacks and disinformation.

Leaders will assess progress in the gradual integration of the Western Balkans into the European Union and discuss ways to further accelerate the process, particularly through the EU Growth Plan for the Western Balkans. They will also examine ways to address common challenges and strengthen security and resilience against an increasingly complex geopolitical backdrop.

On the sidelines of the summit, Prime Minister Radev will hold a bilateral meeting with Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten.

Annual EU-Western Balkans summits have been held since 2018, with the most recent meeting taking place in Brussels in December 2025.
