Traditional Graduation Ball Held within President's Support a Dream Initiative

The traditional graduation ball held every year as part of the Bulgarian President's Support a Dream charitable initiative took place at House 2 of the Boyana Residence in Sofia on Thursday. President Iliana Iotova welcomed 103 graduating students from social services, foster families, and specialized schools for students with sensory disabilities from across the country.

"You are young and incredibly strong people. You have, and will continue to have, the courage to dream, to build your own future, and to be proud of your achievements," she said in her address. "What you have left behind is an inspiration to us adults, because we are well aware of how difficult it has been for you, and yet you have succeeded despite everything,” Iotova told the graduates, wishing them all the best.

In the autumn, graduates from the Support a Dream programme who continue their studies at universities will receive a one-time educational scholarship from the presidential administration. The funds for these scholarships are collected through an annual donation campaign organized by the administration. Funds raised so far amount to EUR 50,413, the President's press secretariat said on Tuesday.
