site.btaTsarevo to Host Sofia Film Fest from June 8 to 12

Tsarevo will host Sofia Film Fest for the first time from June 8 to 12, the municipal press service said on Wednesday.

The opening on June 8 will feature a screening of the historical political thriller Zalog (Bet) by Svetoslav Ovcharov. The film tells the story of a conspiracy at the end of the 19th century that puts the fate of Bulgaria at stake. The main roles are played by Zahari Baharov, Assen Blatechki, Deyan Donkov, and Ofelia Popii. The opening will be attended by Ovcharov and producer Svetla Tsotsorkova.

On June 9, the programme continues with the animated film Flow by Latvian director Gints Zilbalodis. The film has won an Oscar, Golden Globe, Cesar Award, among others, and follows the journey of a cat and a group of animals in a world engulfed in water.

June 10 will be dedicated to Hen by Hungarian director Gyorgy Palfi. The story follows the bird's escape from an industrial farm and its encounter with the human world.

On June 11, viewers will be able to watch Perfect Days by Wim Wenders, which was awarded the Ecumenical Jury Prize in Cannes and received recognition for actor Koji Yakusho.

The festival concludes on June 12 with It Was Just an Accident by Iranian director Jafar Panahi.

Audiences will be able to watch all Bulgarian and international films with free admission. The initiative is organized by Sofia Film Fest and Tsarevo Municipality as part of the Sofia Film Fest on the Road project.
