The Veselie folklore group from Milan will take part in the 11th Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance travelling festival, to be held from May 15 to 17 at BMW Park in Munich.
"This year’s theme, ‘Libe le, libe hubavo’ [Beloved, Beautiful Beloved], takes us back to the most beautiful and eternal feeling, love, and inspired us to create a new choreography, ‘Pre-Wedding Games in Gerlovo’, choreographed by Lyubcho Vasilev with music by Prof. Stefan Chapkanov," members of the group told BTA.
The choreographer of Veselie is Stanimir Minev, a long-time teacher of Bulgarian folk dances at the Peyo Yavorov Bulgarian school in Milan.
"With the new dance compilation, filled with emotion, rhythm and beauty, he motivated and inspired many new young dancers. We are happy to share that our group has grown this year. Twenty-five adult dancers and around ten children will perform in Munich," the group said.
The performers described their Saturday appearance not simply as a stage performance, but as a gathering of friends, traditions and generations.
The travelling festival Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance is organized by and for amateur folklore ensembles performing outside Bulgaria. The initiative was launched by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted both the first edition in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025. More than 100 dance ensembles and over 4,000 guests are expected at the 11th edition in Munich in May. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) is the official media partner of the event and will present all participants.
