A conference on the 150th anniversary of the April Uprising of the Bulgarians against Ottoman rule will be held at the Museum of History in Panagyurishte today, April 30. The forum is part of a series of discussions organized by the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) to encourage public dialogue on the historic anniversary.

Participants in the event will include BTA Director General Kiril Valchev, Sofia University Rector Georgi Valchev, Bulgarian National Radio Director General Milen Mitev, Panagyurishte Mahyor Zhelyazko Gagov, the Director of the local Museum of History, Atanas Shopov, and theatre director Bina Haralampieva. The event will be moderated by journalist Boyko Vasilev, host of the programme "Panorama" on Bulgarian National Television.

The conferences dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the uprising are part of the "14 Centuries of Bulgaria in Europe" initiative by BTA, the National Television and the National Radio. The initiative aims to mark significant anniversaries in Bulgarian history that have had an impact on the broader history of Europe.
