Casting his vote in Sunday's parliamentary elections, Yes, Bulgaria Co-leader Ivaylo Mirchev said he voted for Bulgaria to free itself "from the corruption model that has dominated it for many years" and "to reaffirm its European path".
Yes, Bulgaria is part of the Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria coalition, which has the second largest group in the present Parliament.
He urged all Bulgarians, before going to vote, to look at their children and vote for a strong Bulgaria in a strong Europe.
Asked whether Sunday's vote would break the cycle of snap elections, he said he firmly believed this would be the case. "That is why it is very important that everyone, including those who are still uncertain, goes out and casts their vote."
Mirchev also expressed hope for a smooth election day, calling on political actors not to create false hysteria and instead to encourage higher turnout so that the Bulgarian people could make their voice heard. He described the election as a critical moment that could either steer Bulgaria towards Europe or towards more dangerous waters.
