These elections will not resolve the political crisis in Bulgaria; they may even deepen it, Blue Bulgaria Coalition co-founder Vili Lilkov said in Sofia as the coalition closed its election campaign on Friday. "This is why we must be prepared to run in the next elections. If not in early parliamentary elections, we will certainly face another battle in October - namely, the presidential elections," added the coalition's top-of-the-list candidate in Sofia's 23rd constituency.
Lilkov said that there is no other pro-European, anti-communist, reformist, and right-wing party in Bulgaria besides Blue Bulgaria. "While all of Bulgaria sinks deeper and deeper into the sticky mire of communist nostalgia and looks more and more to yet another saviour - who is guaranteed to very soon turn his back on the European Union, on reforms, and on everything achieved in the country - we will see yet another assemblage [coalition government]," said Lilkov.
Peter Moskov, Blue Bulgaria's top-of-the-list candidate in Sofia's 24th constituency and Varna (on the Black Sea), said that they are the only right-wing economic alternative. Support for them means a future parliament with a driving force for right-wing reformist policies. According to Moskov, the battle among all the other parties is a dispute over who gets to hand out the money to the people.
