BTA will publish the names of the top-of-the-list candidates of every party/coalition for all constituencies for the April 19 parliamentary elections. The information about the candidates is provided by the respective political entity, the candidates themselves and other official sources.
Assen Vassilev is the top-of-the-list candidate of Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria for Haskovo’s 29th and Plovdiv City’s 16th multi-member constituencies in the snap parliamentary elections on April 19, the political force said here Monday. The decisions registering the lists in the two constituencies have been published on the websites of the respective Constituency Election Commissions.
Continue the Change Chair Assen Vassilev was born on 9 September 1977 in Haskovo, according to the party’s website. He graduated from the language high school in his home town with the Zlatarevska Award. After secondary school he was admitted to and graduated in Economics from Harvard. He later specialised in Business Administration and Law at Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School.
He was minister of economy, energy and tourism in Marin Raykov’s caretaker government from March to May 2013, minister of finance in the first caretaker cabinet of Stefan Yanev from 12 May to 15 September 2021, deputy prime minister for European funds and minister of finance in the regular government of Kiril Petkov, and minister of finance in Nikolay Denkov’s government. He has been a member of parliament in all legislatures since the 47th National Assembly.
