The State Fund Agriculture Monday disbursed EUR 79,368,822 to 42,415 farmers who applied under the complementary redistributive income support for sustainability (CRISS) scheme for the 2025 campaign. The payment rate has been set at EUR 118.12 per hectare, the Fund said.
CRISS is a Common Agricultural Policy tool designed to promote fairer income distribution by shifting funds from larger to smaller/medium-sized farms.
Funding is available for farms of up to 600 hectares, covering the first 30 hectares of declared and eligible land under the basic income support for sustainability (BISS). For farms of up to 30 hectares, support is provided for the number of hectares eligible under the BISS scheme.
The final budget for the intervention will be determined once the last payments under BISS are completed. Any funds released through the application of the BISS payment ceiling will be redistributed in line with the financing mechanism set out for CRISS in the CAP Strategic Plan 2023-2027.
The Fund also announced that, in its role as a Mutual Aid Fund, it has begun withholding 1.5% from area-based direct payments, including those under the CRISS scheme.
The final payment under BISS is expected to be made in April.
