The National Library and regional libraries are recognized as scientific organizations, MPs voted on Wednesday, adopting in a single session the first and second readings of amendments to the Public Libraries Act, introduced by There Is Such a People.

The amendments address an existing legislative gap in the Public Libraries Act regarding the status of the National Library and regional libraries.
