The Central Election Commission (CEC) has established the conditions and procedures for setting up polling stations in medical facilities, nursing homes, and other specialized institutions providing social services, in prisons and detention centres, as well as on vessels flying the Bulgarian flag, the CEC said on Wednesday. The decision states that in these institutions, the respective director or the captain of the vessel shall establish a polling station if there are at least ten voters residing in these facilities or on board the vessel who have expressed a desire to vote, either in writing or verbally.

The heads of the above-mentioned facilities and the captains of vessels must by April 16 notify in writing the mayor of the municipality in whose territory the facility or port is located about the establishment of a polling station. The voter lists for voting at these locations shall be drawn up and signed by the heads of these establishments or, respectively, by the captains of the vessels.
