The 7th edition of the National Financial Literacy Competition saw a record number of winners with 47 participants achieving the maximum score of 30 points. This year's competition had 271 students ranging from fifth to twelfth graders who appeared in the final, the Ministry of Education and Science press service reported on Monday.

A total of 1,434 students from 23 regions participated, with the largest number of participants in the national round this year being in the youngest age group. Twenty-five of the competing 84 fifth graders achieved the highest possible score.

As part of the competition, students had two hours to solve seven tasks related to real financial situations - from basic accounting and budgeting to analysing loans, bank deposits, and interest rates.

In addition to certificates and material prizes, the first, second and third place winners received a one-year scholarship to encourage their outstanding talents. The participants who reached the maximum number of points were included in the extended team for the International Economics Olympiad.
