As of March 8, 2026, Israel will begin to reopen its airspace for outbound commercial flights will begin under certain conditions, said the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry on its website.

Initially, flights to various destinations from Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv will be operated only by Israeli airlines, with local authorities recommending El Al, Israir, and Arkia. Information about available flight options can be found on the airlines’ official websites, the MFA said.

At this stage, Israeli authorities have introduced a limit of a maximum of 100 passengers per flight, the ministry noted.

A special requirement has also been introduced for Israeli citizens leaving Israel. They must sign a declaration stating that they will not return to the country for at least 30 days from the date of departure, the ministry added.

The Israeli Ministry of Tourism is arranging transportation for foreign nationals on a short stay in Israel to the border with Egypt on Monday, March 9. Citizens who wish to take advantage of this opportunity must register through the provided link.

The possibility of leaving Israel by land through Jordan and Egypt using self-organized transportation remains available.

In recent days, the Bulgarian Embassy in Tel Aviv has assisted Bulgarian citizens who wished to leave Israel via land routes, and it remains available to provide assistance if necessary in the context of the new opportunities for leaving the country, the Ministry added.

The mission can be contacted through the emergency phone numbers: +972 54 595 4379 and +972 54 764 0089, as well as via email: [Consulate.TelAviv@mfa.bg](mailto:Consulate.TelAviv@mfa.bg).
