The Council of Ministers adopted an amendment to Council of Ministers Decision No. 144 of March 10, 2022, on granting temporary protection to displaced persons from Ukraine, extending the temporary protection of displaced persons from Ukraine on the territory of Bulgaria by one year, effective from March 4, 2026, in accordance with a decision of the Council of the European Union.

The Council of Ministers also adopted a Decision amending Council of Ministers Decision No. 642 of August 4, 2016, approving the templates of registration cards issued by the State Agency for Refugees with the Council of Ministers. The decision approves new models of registration cards for temporary protection with a validity period from March 4, 2027, and sets a deadline for the re-registration of persons displaced from Ukraine who have been granted temporary protection in connection with the extension of the period of temporary protection on the territory of Bulgaria until March 4, 2027. The re-registration process will continue until April 30, 2026.
