site.btaBNT Board Member Anton Andonov Calls Opening of BTA's Press Club in Athens "Extremely Beneficial for All Bulgarian Media"

Anton Andonov, member of the Management Board of Bulgarian National Television (BNT), said at the opening of the BTA National Press Club in Athens on Saturday that "this is a truly significant step, extremely beneficial for all Bulgarian media, as well as for the media landscape in our country as a whole".

"I believe there must be really extensive coverage both in the Balkans and on the international stage, because we are living in extremely interesting times, and it is crucial that Bulgarians receive important, verified and accurate information,” said Andonov.

"In this regard, BTA's initiative and the creation of new press clubs provide invaluable support for all major Bulgarian media," Andonov added, noting that it also "greatly helps the audience access genuinely verified information".

As of Saturday, BTA will have 44 press clubs. Of these, 27 are located in the regional centres of Sofia, Blagoevgrad, Burgas, Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Vidin, Vratsa, Gabrovo, Dobrich, Kardzhali, Kyustendil, Lovech, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pernik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Razgrad, Ruse, Silistra, Sliven, Smolyan, Stara Zagora, Targovishte, Haskovo, Shumen, and Yambol. There are six press clubs in the non-regional cities of Gotse Delchev, Kazanlak, Petrich, Samokov, Svishtov, and Troyan. There are nine outside the country - in Ankara (Turkiye), Athens (Greece), Belgrade (Serbia), Bosilegrad (Serbia), Bucharest (Romania), Odesa (Ukraine), Skopje (Republic of North Macedonia), and Taraclia (Moldova), and at the Bulgarian Antarctic base on Livingston Island. Two press clubs are temporary - aboard the first Bulgarian naval research vessel Sv. Sv. Kiril i Metodii (RSV 421) and the Book Fair.
