site.bta BTA Director General Calls Agency "The Natural Information Platform for Bulgarian Cultural Institutes' Activities"

The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) is the natural platform for information about all the activities of Bulgarian cultural institutes, the agency's Director General Kiril Valchev said on Friday. He participated at an event here dedicated to the vision for the development of cultural tourism in Bulgaria.

He recalled that BTA created a specialized editorial office called LIK in 2021, which publishes information about culture from Bulgaria and the world. "So far, BTA has contracts with 12 museums and galleries, which systematically provide information about their calendars and events", he noted, adding that he will sign a cooperation agreement with the Bulgarian Museums Association on Friday, which will allow the Agency to publish photos, videos and texts from museums in the country.

BTA is the only Bulgarian media outlet with a full correspondent network and 33 national press clubs with a minimum of two correspondents, Valchev pointed out. He also recalled that at the invitation of Tourism Minister Miroslav Borshosh, a special edition of the LIK magazine was published in 2025 dedicated to wine tourism in Bulgaria. The edition was presented at the UN Tourism Global Conference on Wine Tourism in Plovdiv. Valchev noted that following this example, a focused edition dedicated to cultural tourism could also be published soon.

BTA works well and quickly with Information Services AD, with the help of which a map of Bulgaria with all museums can be developed on the Agency's website. Preliminary information with the cultural calendars of the museums can find a place there as well, he pointed out, adding that this map can be useful for domestic tourism.
