President Rumen Radev will hold meetings with representatives of the parliamentary groups of BSP–United Left and There Is Such a People (TISP). The meetings are part of the consultation procedure with representatives of the parliamentary groups in the 51st National Assembly following the resignation of the government, the press secretariat of the head of State said.

The first meeting with BSP-United Left will take place at 10 am, followed by a meeting with There Is Such a People at 11.30 am.

A day earlier, the president discussed the political situation in the country with representatives of Vazrazhdane and MRF-New Beginning.

On Monday, President Rumen Radev began the series of consultations, meeting GERB–UDF and Continue the Change–Democratic Bulgaria.

Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov announced a few days ago that the government would submit its resignation. A day later, the National Assembly unanimously voted through the prime minister’s resignation. The resignation followed mass protests in Sofia and other cities across the country earlier this month.

Under the Constitution, following the resignation of the cabinet, the President begins a new procedure for granting exploratory mandates to form a government.
