site.btaEP Office, Association of Municipalities to Discuss Future of Cohesion Policy at Sofia Forum
The European Parliament (EP) Liaison Office in Bulgaria is holding a discussion on “The Future of Cohesion Policy: European Plans and Bulgarian Priorities” in partnership with the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria (NAMRB), the EP Office announced. The event will take place at the House of Europe in Sofia.
The forum will discuss the proposals for cohesion policy in the next EU Multiannual Financial Framework (2028–2034), the positions of the European Parliament and Bulgarian institutions regarding the proposed changes,and will present the views of various stakeholders.
Participating in the forum will be MEP Tsvetelina Penkova (S&D), Ivan Ivanov, head of the Central Coordination Unit Directorate in the Council of Ministers, Ivaylo Stoyanov, head of the Strategic Planning and Programming Department at the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, Zornitsa Rusinova, Chair of the Economic and Social Council, and NAMBR Executive Director Silvia Georgieva. The moderator of the discussion is Zinaida Zlatanova.
A few days ago, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Innovation and Growth Tomislav Donchev presented Bulgaria’s position on the future of EU cohesion policy at a high-level conference in Bucharest. He took part in the forum "Cohesion 2027+: A Driver for Long-Term Development, Inclusive Economic Competitiveness, and Resilience Across Europe" at the invitation of Romanian Minister of Investments and European Projects Dragos Pislaru. The event brought together Members of the European Parliament, representatives of the European Commission, ministers from EU member states, and others, the Ministry of Innovation and Growth reported at the time.
