On Tuesday, GERB-UDF Deputy Floor Leader Denitsa Sacheva said that there is nothing in the budget that has been agreed upon by both employers and trade unions, after a meeting with Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) President Plamen Dimitrov and Podkrepa Labour Confederation President Dimitar Manolov.

Sacheva pointed out that employers are insisting on an increase in value added tax (VAT), while trade unions have stated their opposition.

“Our political position supports the view that raising VAT would burden all Bulgarian citizens,” Sacheva said.

She added that a meeting of the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation on the budget issue is expected by the end of the week.
