Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) Floor Leader Nikolay Denkov was elected deputy chair of Continue the Change (CC) by the party’s National Council, the formation said on Saturday.

The proposal was made by party chair Assen Vassilev and was expected following amendments to the Statute, adopted by the General Assembly of Continue the Change this autumn, the statement said.

At the end of September, Assen Vassilev was unanimously elected CC chair. The General Assembly of the formation elected an entirely renewed Executive Council and made changes to the party Statute. It was decided that there will be a deputy chair of the party, who will be nominated from among the members of the Executive Council and confirmed by the National Council on the proposal of the chair. An independent body was also established in the party – the Ethics Committee, which may investigate reports and take appropriate action.
