Bulgarian President Receives Honorary Title of Baku State University
 
 Baku/Sofia, March 11 (BTA) - Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev was  awarded an honorary title by the Baku State University for his  contribution to the development of international relations, Plevneliev's  press secretariat said on Friday. 
 
 "We live in a fast-changing world and the politicians are called upon to  recognize the processes that will shape the outlook of the coming  decades," Plevneliev said in his lecture to the students and faculty of  the Baku State University.
 
 "In the process of globalization we need friends with whom to face  together the common challenges," Plevneliev said. He noted the friendly  relations between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan.
 
 Plevneliev said that Azerbaijan is an important partner in achieving  energy diversification not only for Bulgaria and Southeast Europe but  for the European Union as well. The President voiced categorical support  for establishing strategic partnership between the EU and Azerbaijan.  "Ensuring energy diversification, increasing energy security and  creating new opportunities for economic partnership are only part of the  instrument we can use to adapt to the changing world," Plevneliev said.
