site.bta Vidin Regional Governor Welcomes Delegation from Germany's Ortenau Region

A delegation from Ortenau Region in Germany was welcomed by Vidin Regional Governor Ani Arutyunyan, the regional administration said on Wednesday.

The German delegation included, amongst others, Ortenau Regional Governor Thorsten Erny and Friesenheim Mayor Erik Weide. Arutyunyan and Erny discussed the potential of Vidin Region for attracting investments from Germany, as well as the opportunities for implementing joint projects with Ortenau Region. Emphasis was placed on improving the business environment and increasing tourism capacity through the development and implementation of new tourism products.

The delegation visited the Nikola Yonkov Vaptsarov High School in the village of Drenovets in Ruzhintsi Municipality, as well as the municipalities of Belogradchik and Chuprene. At the Winery in Borovitsa, the German delegation got acquainted with the production processes of technological wines from Vidin Region. Opportunities for close cooperation in the export of high-quality Bulgarian wines were discussed as well. The members of the delegation expressed their admiration for the quality of the wines.

The visit strengthened the long-standing relations between the Vidin and Ortenau regions and ended with a promise for more future joint initiatives, the the regional administration emphasized.
