An information meeting, part of the National Information Campaign for the Introduction of the Euro in Bulgaria, took place here on Thursday. The meeting was organized by the Consumer Protection Commission (CPC), aiming to inform residents on how to convert from leva to euro correctly and what rights they have as consumers.
The meeting was attended by the Director of the National Revenue Agency (NRA) in Sofia Region, Valya Krumova, as well as CPC experts Zhaneta Sadrazanova and Iliana Kiradzhiyska.
During the meetings, basic principles and technical details of the process of switching from leva to euro, scheduled for January 1, 2026, were explained. The representatives of the institutions emphasized that prices in retail outlets must be indicated both in leva and euro, using the official fixed exchange rate. It was pointed out that all available bank accounts and electronic funds will be automatically converted into euro at the fixed rate, without the need for any action on the part of consumers.
