site.btaNew Bulgarian Cultural Association Abroad to Hold Founding Meeting in Sofia on July 29

The Constituent Assembly of a new Association of Bulgarian Cultural Organizations Abroad will take place July 29 at the headquarters of the Executive Agency for Bulgarians Abroad (EABA) in Sofia, the Agency said on its official website on Wednesday. 

"The initiative aims to unite the efforts of Bulgarian cultural organizations around the world and create a platform for more effective communication with institutions in Bulgaria. Through the Association, work will be carried out to strengthen the spiritual and cultural ties between Bulgarian artists and organizations abroad and their compatriots at home," the post reads.

The organizers point out that similar associations already exist for Bulgarian schools and folklore ensembles abroad.

Co-organizers and initiators of the event are the Confederation of Bulgarian Cultural Organizations and Figures Abroad, the Seli Art Salon from Bat Yam, Israel, and the Salon for Bulgarian Culture and Spirituality in Chicago, USA. 

Ahead of the Constituent Assembly, an art exhibition by painter Mira Kopanarov will open at the EABA. Based in Canada, Kopanarov presents a collection of works inspired by the Glagolitic script, united under the theme "The Word for Peace."
