The BTA Press Club in the southeastern Serbian town of Bosilegrad is an important element of the efforts to strengthen ties between Bulgaria and Serbia, Bulgarian Ambassador to Serbia Angel Angelov said in a congratulatory message presented during a news conference on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the opening of BTA's Press Club here. The message was conveyed by the advisor to the Ambassador, Ognyan Siderov.

Angelov emphasized that over the past decade the press club has developed as a prestigious platform for information, communication and interaction between institutions, media and citizens. “It contributes to the better visibility of the Bulgarian community, to the assertion of its identity and to the maintenance of an active public life in the region. Its activity is an important element of the efforts to strengthen the ties between Bulgaria and Serbia and to promote an open and constructive dialogue,” he pointed out.

The high professional standard achieved and the consistency with which the BTA team performs its work was noted noted as well by Angelov, who stressed that BTA's work has long-term significance both for the Bulgarian national minority and for the development of good neighbourly relations. He also appealed to the BTA press club in Bosilegrad to continue to be a support for the Bulgarian national minority and a reliable partner of the institutions and the media.

The press conference will reveal the name of the fifth winner of the Maxim Minchev Award, established five years ago by the GLAS Association in Bosilegrad. During the event, the interim amount raised from the 13th Christmas charity initiative, which began on November 19 and will continue until December 22, will also be announced. The funds raised will traditionally support various youth initiatives in 2026. The initiative has raised over EUR 40,000 since 2013.

Currently, BTA has 43 Press Clubs in total, including eight abroad.
