The DianaMar Balneo Hotel in Pavel Banya is undergoing a complete renovation of its spa centre, general manager Georgi Paunov told BTA. A new ice room is expected to be added to the renovated salt room, steam baths, and saunas.

DianaMar is an extension of the activities of the Avicenna Medical Centre in Pavel Banya following its development in the Markoni Balneo Hotel, noted Paunov. According to him, this is also the first facility in the south-central town to have offered high-level balneological services about ten years ago.

“The design and development are modeled after the operations of European balneological resorts such as Baden-Baden, Spa, Vichy, and Karlovy Vary, and our goal was to structurally improve the facility with our own ideas and innovations,” explained Paunov.

The complex’s team includes specialists in the field of physical and rehabilitation medicine, with activities coordinated by Dr. Miroslav Minev. According to Paunov, all stages of the work are carried out in strict compliance with medical standards and using specialized equipment.

DianaMar offers procedures such as hyperbaric oxygenation, cryotherapy, focused high-intensity EMSELLA therapy, and focused shockwave therapy (FSWT). These methods are used both for treating medical conditions and for the preparation and recovery of active athletes.

According to the manager, the use of innovative equipment allows for a shorter recovery period and increased effectiveness of the therapies. The complex offers a variety of natural and mechanical therapeutic treatments combined with kinesitherapy.

The main focus of the facility is balneotherapy, as the mineral water in Pavel Banya has a composition that is beneficial for treating musculoskeletal disorders. Spa and wellness services are also offered as a complementary element.

DianaMar has 80 guest rooms, and occupancy rates reach about 95%. Guests come from both Bulgaria and countries such as Kosovo, Albania, North Macedonia, Switzerland, Austria, Belarus, and Ukraine.
