The spa centre at Grand Hotel Yantra in Veliko Tarnovo now offers the most modern forms of relaxation after a major renovation, hotel manager Ivo Staykov told BTA.

The renovation was completed in 2025 and covered the main areas - indoor pool, relaxation spaces, etc. The next phase will include construction of new facilities, including an herbal steam bath and a salt room.

The centre offers a wide variety of treatments - classic and deep-tissue massages, anti-cellulite treatments, facial and body therapies, as well as more specialized services such as Ayurvedic massage and exotic treatments using bamboo and natural extracts. Among the most popular ones are also treatments with honey, chocolate, and Dead Sea salts, designed for rejuvenation and relaxation.

The spa area employs qualified professionals and offers services that are available to both hotel guests and outside visitors with club cards. The pool and massage therapies are usually the most popular among guests, the hotel management said. One of the most unique experiences is that the wellness area and fitness rooms offer views of the historic Tsarevets and Trapezitsa hills. This is a unique combination of a cultural and historical atmosphere and modern facilities for relaxation and urban tourism, Staykov said.

The wellness centre has been in operation since 2005, when the hotel was completely renovated and reopened under the management of Sharlopov Group.

Grand Hotel Yantra was built in 1959. It has been designated a cultural monument of national significance. Murals by the artist Michalis Garoudis are preserved in the hotel and the meanders of the Yantra River are depicted on the hotel’s logo.

Among guests of the hotel were Bulgarian singer Lili Ivanova, English singer Ian Gillan, and others.
