Strong explosions rocked Odesa as the city came under a combined attack launched from the Black Sea, local Telegram channel Odesa-Info reported on Monday. More than 10 missiles of various types and more than 10 drones were launched at the Ukrainian Black Sea port city.

Regional authorities have urged residents to immediately take shelter in bomb shelters and remain there until the all-clear is given.

The air raid sirens sounded at 8:35 PM, while the first explosions were heard at around 10:20 PM on Monday.

More than 150,000 Bulgarians live in Odesa Region, making them the third-largest ethnic group there according to Ukraine's latest official census. Around 50,000 to 60,000 Bulgarians live in Odesa itself. The largest compact Bulgarian communities are concentrated in Bolhrad, Izmail and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi districts.
