It is important that everybody comes to this table with the genuine interest in cooperation and also compromise, because it requires compromising for everybody, said EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas at a press conference on Tuesday in response to a question regarding her expectations of Bulgaria's future government.
"Before we do not have a government in place, and we have not seen how the new government acts, we will no go or jump ahead of the events," she added. "And I think in the beginning everybody is treated with equal welcoming of new colleagues around the table to have agreements and cooperation with."
All 27 European Union (EU) Member States are democracies in which people choose their future through elections, she pointed out.
Kallas said that the issue of expanding sanctions against Russia is expected to be revisited, and that the decision - which has been blocked by Hungary in recent months - is expected to be approved.
