Cyprus Requires Safepass
Document for Visiting Indoor,
Open-air Parts of Various Public Sites

Sofia, July 16 (BTA) - On Tuesday and Wednesday Cyprus reported record high numbers of new coronavirus cases since the onset of the pandemic in March 2020. After a decline from May until mid-June, COVID-19 cases quickly began to increase because of the Delta variant. The number of hospitalized patients is rising too.

A Safepass, confirming that bearers are vaccinated, have had COVID-19 in the past six months or have negative results from a test taken in the past 72 hours, is required to visit indoor and open-air parts of malls, cafes, restaurants, sports halls and other sites in Cyprus.

On Thursday, Cypriot health authorities suspended planned operations and non-emergency hospital admissions to limit the infection and preserve the capacity of the hospital system.
