COVID-19 Update:
2,142 New Cases,
Test Positivity Rate at 11.13%
Sofia, September 30 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 500,112, after 19,237 tests identified 2,142 new infections on Wednesday, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 11.13 per cent.
Sofia tops the list of new cases with 488 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv with 188 cases and Varna with 161.
The active cases are 43,520. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 5,172, including 458 in intensive care.
Another 1,306 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 435,780.
Eighty-seven fatalities were reported, and the death toll now adds up to 20,812.
With 9,014 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 2,530,744 vaccine doses have been administered so far and 1,324,137 people are fully vaccinated.

The Ministry of Health is launching an incentive contest with prizes for vaccinated people and a new information campaign, which aims to promote vaccination against COVID-19 in the country, the press service of the Ministry of Health said. Both will last until October 31, 2021.
The campaign requires sending an SMS, calling for vaccination, and then grants the sender participation in a raffle for one of the 102 smart watches, to the private subscribers of the three telecommunications operators in the country. The winning participants in the contest will be determined at random through a public draw, which will be held every Friday of the campaign. DS/MT,DT
