On October 8, 2003, the BTA National Press Club was officially opened in Sofia on the fourth floor of the agency's building. The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Solomon Passy and the Minister for European Affairs Meglena Kuneva, together with the visiting British Minister for European Affairs Denis McShane.
After the official opening, BTA Director General Maxim Minchev gave the first press conference in the renovated hall and presented the capabilities of the National Press Club.
The BTA National Press Club in Sofia provides conditions for organizing press conferences, discussions, trainings and other information events:
- a sound system - 37 stationary and 2 mobile microphones;
- online broadcasting of the press conferences on the BTA website;
- special technical lighting;
- multimedia projector, video screen, computer;
- Wi_Fi;
- HD video recording of the events;
- simultaneous interpretation booth and 30 receivers;
- free access to the video recordings of the public events provided in the Press Club Archive section of the BTA website;
- space in front of the press club suitable for catering and informal conversations.

Through the activities of the National Press Clubs, the BTA extends its range of services:
- for the benefit of the public - by providing opportunities for the expression of opinions, views and concerns of civil, trade and professional organisations, institutions, parties and citizens;
- for the benefit of the media - by ensuring equal access to information from events and their free coverage and dissemination.
