Bulgaria and NATO will hold one of the largest and most complex emergency management exercises BULGARIA 2025 between September 7 and 13, the Interior Ministry press office said.
The host is the Professional Training Centre of the General Directorate Fire Safety and Civil Protection (GDFSCP) in Montana, Northwestern Bulgaria. The official opening ceremony will take place at Erden Airport, where the participants’ base camp will be located.
BULGARIA 2025 is jointly organised by the Interior Ministry’s General Directorate Fire Safety and Civil Protection, NATO’s Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC), and NATO’s Crisis Management and Disaster Response Centre of Excellence (CMDR COE) in Bulgaria.
Around 1,200 representatives from more than 40 countries and organisations will take part, the ministry said.
The exercise will focus on response to natural and industrial disasters, hybrid threats, complex emergencies, and on testing procedures related to the logistical support provided by a host nation receiving international assistance.
