site.btaDrone Attack Targets Southern Odesa Region
Around 15 drones attacked the southern part of Ukraine’s Odesa Region from the Black Sea, local Telegram channels reported on Wednesday. The air raid alert was declared at 6:14 pm, and the attack is ongoing.
The main strike is concentrated in the areas of Tuzla, Tatarbunary and Prymorske, according to the reports. Explosions echoed in the city. Several targets have been hit.
The Izmail District State Administration reported on its Facebook page that a group of drones is approaching the district. “They are currently near Snake Island. The threat of an attack is high,” the administration added.
Locals were urged to hide in bomb shelters.
Bulgarians in the Odesa region number more than 150,000 and were the third largest population group in Ukraine in 2001, according to the official census. About 50,000 - 60,000 Bulgarians live in the city of Odesa itself. The largest compact Bulgarian population is concentrated in the Bolhrad, Izmail and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi districts.
