Economy and Industry Minister Peter Dilov met U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Susan Falatko on Wednesday to explore ways to deepen the economic partnership and expand bilateral trade.

“Strengthening trade and investment with the United States, our strategic partner, remains a priority,” Dilov said.

In 2024 two-way trade reached USD 1.58 billion, with Bulgarian exports at USD 1.12 billion and imports at USD 456 million.

The talks covered the Bulgaria–U.S. strategic dialogue, US investment opportunities and Bulgaria’s accession process to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

“Attracting U.S. capital in the automotive, electronics, IT, robotics and AI sectors is crucial,” Dilov added, pledging ministry support for high-value projects.

Falatko said the United States appreciates Bulgaria’s efforts to improve the investment climate, adding that a regular government provides the stability and predictability investors seek.
