site.btaEconomy Ministry, Chamber of Commerce Award Bulgaria's Trade Offices Abroad
The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the Ministry of Economy and Industry awarded here on Thursday the most successful Trade and Economic Affairs Offices (STIV) of Bulgaria's diplomatic missions abroad. First prize went to the Office in France, second prize went to the one in Greece, and the one in Hungary won third prize.
The STIVs in Japan, South Korea, Albania, and Moldova earned honourable mentions.
The ranking of the STIVs' performance is based on statistics for 2024 compared to 2023 such as increase in exports, investments, tourists. Also used is an assessment by the business community and the Ministry of Economy and Industry. The assessment involves active outreach to Bulgarian businesses. According to BCCI rules, an office cannot receive the award more than once in two years.
Minister of Economy and Industry Peter Dilov told BTA that his ministry will prepare a sectoral analysis to localize which companies produce what in Bulgaria. Based on results, a strategy for development and access to foreign markets will be worked out for the respective industries. The BCCI will provide the ministry with the necessary details. The goal is to facilitate the work of trade offices in representing Bulgaria's businesses abroad.
Thursday's event was the 15th edition of the awards presented by the BCCI and the Economy Ministry. This year, it was dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the BCCI.
