The Bulgarian Central Energy Repair Base (CERB) is repairing the Gacko and Ugljevik thermal power plants in Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, CERB said.

The repair work includes dynamic balancing on a mobile stand of four turbine rotors at the two power plants.

The Gacko power plant was built in 1983 and has a capacity of 300 megawatts. Together with Ugljevik TPP, it provides 62% of the electricity for the Republic of Srpska. Gacko TPP operates with lignite coal from a nearby mine. The plant's turbine has three cylinders with different pressures (high, medium and low).

CERB is the only company on the Balkan Peninsula for the maintenance of power plants. It operates in more than 10 countries and offers complete energy solutions, from design, through monitoring and service, to maintenance and repair. It was founded 77 years ago.

In 2024, CERB won a project to renovate Kosovo's second largest power plant, the Kosovo A TPP.
