Flights at Sofia's Vasil Levski Airport are not affected by the Airbus software update issue, airport officials announced. There is no change in the flight schedule. Flights are operating without any deviations related to this software update, the airport said.

There are also no flights affected by the problem in Varna, Varna Airport confirmed. There are no affected flights at Plovdiv Airport either, Krasimir Peshev, acting CEO of the airport, said. Burgas Airport is closed for reconstruction until May 2026.

European aircraft manufacturer Airbus announced Friday that it had ordered an immediate software change on a significant number of its widely used A320 family of jets.

Low-cost airline Wizz Air, which also operates routes to and from Bulgaria, announced that some of its aircraft are among those affected and require a software update.

On Saturday, Wizz Air announced that the software update required by Airbus was successfully implemented overnight on all affected aircraft from Wizz Air's Airbus A320 family. All flights are operating as scheduled and no further disruptions are expected as a result of this issue, the airline added.
