The Tourism Ministry has initiated a comprehensive inspection of the Golden Sands resort, the ministry said.

Joint teams from the Ministry, the Consumer Protection Commission, economic police, Regional Health Inspectorate, National Revenue Agency, and the local municipality are conducting checks to ensure the proper provision of tourist services and compliance with all applicable regulations and laws.

Ivan Videlov, Director of the Control and Inspection Directorate at the Ministry of Tourism, said that violations identified during beach inspections are decreasing. Videlov is participating in a joint operation involving the ministry and other institutions at the Golden Sands resort.

"Roughly one in ten sites has some form of violation," Videlov noted. "We mainly monitor the cleanliness of the beach, the presence of lifeguards and medical personnel, and such violations are decreasing." According to him, the improvement is visible along both the Northern and Southern Black Sea coasts.

However, he added that violations involving vehicles on the sand still occur. "We’ve stepped up inspections in that area as well, including joint checks with the police," Videlov commented.

Joint inspections by various institutions are currently underway along the entire Bulgarian Black Sea coast, he said. At Golden Sands, the inspections include representatives from the Ministry of Tourism, Consumer Protection Commission, economic police, Regional Health Inspectorate, National Revenue Agency, and Varna Municipality.

"As with previous operations, the moment the checks began, many businesses along the promenade immediately started to close down—clearly concerned by the inspections," Videlov added.

Inspections are set to continue throughout the summer season, with varying intensity depending on location and conditions.
