site.btaInvestBulgaria Agency Head Nenova: Investors Highly Value Secure Investment in EU Country

In the current environment, strategic alliances have changed and geopolitics is more important than ever; investors highly value having a secure investment in an EU Member State and having the Made in EU label, InvestBulgaria Agency Executive Director Mila Nenova said here on Wednesday. She was speaking at Japanese-Bulgarian business forum on "Infrastructure, Energy and Digitization", organized by the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency, in partnership with the Embassy of Japan in Bulgaria, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
Nenova said further that although Bulgaria is known for its agriculture, tourism and culture, the country is actually industrial. Over 30% of Bulgaria's GDP is formed by industrial production, she added. "We have traditions in the development of industry, we have qualified engineers, specialists in the field of high technology, and half of the population speaks a foreign language," she noted.
She also stressed the country's favourable tax system and the 10% income tax on companies and individuals. Nenova pointed out that the InvestBulgaria Agency's efforts are aimed at speeding up administrative procedures because, in her words, the biggest challenge today is not the discounts (in support of investors), but the speed with which an investment can be made.
She assured the Japanese business representatives that the InvestBulgaria Agency is at their service. Once they choose Bulgaria, they should contact the Agency before they start their investment, she specified.
During the forum, the Executive Director of the InvestBulgaria Agency and JETRO President Susumu Kataoka signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the two organizations.
